British forces suffer setbacks in the second day of Operation BATTLEAXE. Rommel's forces reach Sidi Rezegh.

1949, 15 June
DF Malan's Herenigde Nationale Party (HNP, Re-united National Party) government approves the Citizenship Bill which requires Britons to wait five years before achieving citizenship.

1956, 15 June
Tunisia's autonomy in foreign affairs is confirmed when an agreement is signed with the French government.

1964, 15 June
As France pulls out of Algeria, only 10,000 troops are still in the country - stationed at Mers El-Kebir, Sahara.
