President Muhammad Ahmad Anwar Sadat of Egypt bans the Muslim Brotherhood.

Balthazar Johannes Vorster, prime minister of South Africa from 13 Sep 1966 - 29 Sep 1978 and non-executive president from 10 Oct 1978 - 4 Jun 1979) dies.

1990, 10 September
Samuel Kanyon Doe, President of the Republic of Liberia, is beaten to death.
