Bontebok

Various species of antelope have been re-introduced to Bushmans Kloof, including bontebok. This is an endangered species that has survived largely thanks to the creation of the Bontebok National Park near Swellendam in 1931, when it was estimated there were only about 30 bontebok living in the wilds left. Today there are estimated to be about 3,000 bontebok. (The white dots you see in the photo are spring daisies.)
