By Alistair Boddy-Evans, About.com

Definition:

A plot, now attributed to Cecil Rhodes, and led by Dr. Leander Starr Jameson to overthrow the government of the Transvaal, through a raid form neighbouring Bechuanaland (now Botswana) and an uprising of Uitlanders.
