Where Do You Find Hieroglyphs - Papyri

During the Pharaonic period, coffin texts and the Book of the Dead were written in cursive hieroglyphs, not to be confused with cursive hieratic script which was always written from right to left (and also in horizontal lines rather than in columns from the 12th Dynasty). These cursive hieroglyphs are from the papyrus of Nakht, describing agriculture in the afterlife, c.1400 BCE from his tomb in the Theban cemetery of Sheikh 'Abd el-Qurna.
