Where Do You Find Hieroglyphs - Stelea

One of the most common sources of hieroglyphic texts are Stelea. Stele are slabs of stone or wood which bear inscriptions, reliefs , or paintings. They were used as a centre for funerary offerings, votive prayers, commemoration stones or territory markers. The above example is a painted limestone votive stele from the 18th Dynasty (c.1400 BCE) which has three lines of accompanying hieroglyphic text along the bottom.
