the Organisation de l'Armee Secrete (OAS) terrorist campaign
continues with a bomb attack on the Hassi Touareg old filed - most of the
country's wealth is dependent on its oil resources. The OAS, a secret
(terrorist) French army organisation, is opposed to the withdrawal of
French troops and the granting of independence to Algeria. |
