Sankofa (variant #1) – 'return and fetch it'.

Symbol represents the importance of learning from the past.

This symbol occurs as an abstract motif, as above, or as a stylised bird. One version of the proverb says that "it is not taboo to return fetch that which you have forgotton" which points a deeper meaning that you can learn from past mistakes and correct them in the present.
