Guide Review - Reiner Knizia's Africa
Africa is a board game for two to five players in which explorers make their way around Africa encountering wild animals, nomads, monuments, trade goods, gold, and gems. In true colonial fashion, both game herds and nomads can be relocated, trade goods can be spirited away for private collections, gold and gems mined to profit the explorer, and kudos is achieved through discovering ancient monuments. For each of these activities the player scores points. Some strategy exists in the way counters are relocated, and with the choice between mining around a base camp or scoring points for its neighbouring attractions; when the final monument is discovered the game ends the highest score wins.
