Microsoft Office in Kiswahili.

Saturday June 19, 2004
According to BBC News online, Microsoft is going to introduce a version of its office software in Kiswahili in recognition of the growing number of users in East Africa. It is expected to hit the shops in six months time.

Kiswahili is spoken by over 100 million people in East Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, etc. Microsoft are expecting 10 to 15 million computer users will pick up the product. Other important African languages such as Yoruba and Hausa may also be introduced in the near future.
